Environmental Policy
Protecting the natural basis for life and improving quality of life are important aims in social policy. Sto actively pursues these aims, always acting in accordance with the company's guiding principle: "Building with conscience."
In order to define and implement its ecological targets, Sto has developed a system of environmental management conforming to international standards. This relates to the entire process chain – from the procurement of the raw product, to production, packaging and logistics.
Responsible Manufacturing Methods
Since 1998, Sto factory control officers have defined standards in the areas of health and safety, fire safety and the prevention & reduction of water pollution, waste and hazardous substances. These measures have allowed us to successfully implement improvements and savings.
Active Environmental Protection for Facades
Sto products make a clear contribution towards improving the quality of the environment. Sto external wall insulation systems and insulated rainscreen cladding systems reduce heating requirements and CO2 levels within buildings. These systems represent the contribution Sto is making towards active environmental protection through reducing air pollution and improving the global climate.
VOC Free Interior Products
Studies have shown that solvents and plasticisers play a key role in interior air pollution. We endeavour to reduce the VOCs in our products as much as possible, with many water based paints, primers and plasters being independently tested as VOC Free.
